Kris Kersten photoKris Kersten, BA, CDT is past Chairman (North America Chapter) of the International Society for Dental Ceramics. He holds degrees in Biology and Chemistry and owns a small laboratory specializing in anterior esthetic restorations. He wrote a trouble shooting column in Lab Management Today entitled "ASK KRIS" and is a contributing author of Perspectives in Dental Ceramics, Quintessence Publishing. He has presented at numerous Dental meetings including, the Chicago Mid-Winter meeting. Kris is considered one of the best educators on the topics of Dental Porcelain and Materials and is in constant demand for his lectures, seminars and private in-lab courses and consulting. He consults with manufacturers on porcelain technique and products and has been teaching world wide for over 30 years. He donates many days a year to Humanitarian Projects in different countries to help poverty stricken people.

Ed Flocken photoEd Flocken received his Associates Arts Degree in Dental Technology from Los Angeles City College and his Bachelor's Degree from the University of California, Northridge, and completed post-graduate studies in dental science and advanced dental ceramics, at the International Dental Academy, Tokyo, Japan. He was Director of Education at APM/Sterngold, San Mateo, California where he taught Precision attachment dentistry, and later, moved to Amherst, New York to be senior technical IPS Empress Instructor at Ivoclar North America, where he pioneered "pressable ceramics" for nearly 10 years in North America. Ed has over thirty-five years of practical dental experience in all phases of dental technology and oral rehabilitation. He has been certified by the National Board for Certification for over 30 years in several areas of expertise and has lectured extensively to Universities, Institutions, study groups and laboratories throughout the United States, Canada, Central and South America, Asia, and Europe. He is a member of the Academy of Computerized Dentistry of North America and an Alliance member of the American College of Prosthodontics, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the National Association of Dental Laboratories. Currently Ed owns and manages a small studio laboratory in Hendersonville, North Carolina, where he specializes in "All ceramic restorations" with an emphasis on 3D CAD/CAM technology. He continues to research, lecture and consult to leading dental companies and laboratories today. His experiences have given him a wide range of qualifications in restorative procedures.
